Celebrating 80 years
1929
Reuben and Gedor Aldeen left Rockford's National Lock Company to
establish the Aldeen Manufacturing Company.
1930's
Introduced the concept of matching cabinet decorative hardware
for knobs, pulls, and hinges. Changed it's name to The American
Cabinet Hardware Company of Rockford
1940's
Amerock helps out in the war effort by manufacturing items
needed by the military.
1950's
Purchased 94 acres for a new factory in Rockford, IL and built a
plant in Canada. Designed, patented and manufactured the
demountable hinge program.
1970's
Amerock began using a mobile merchandising van. Introduced bath
hardware. Joined the Anchor Hocking Group.
1980's
Designed and patented a new kitchen storage accessory program as
well as the first American made frame concealed hinge program.
Acquired by Newell Co.
1990's
Grew and expanded sales during a period of record growth. Began
focusing on larger retail customers.
2000 - Today
Galleria hardware line as well as new Bath hardware are
launched. A new mobile showroom is created. Amerock relocates
from Rockford to Columbia, MD then to Huntersville, NC
